Full-Time, Exempt Brief Description:
Working effectively with the Executive Director, the Facilities Manager (FM) lives and workson the 175 acres of camp property.
The FM is responsible for keeping the buildings, grounds and equipment in top shape throughout the main property as well as the camp's satellite properties at Tomahawk Lodge in Dunnellon, FL and our primitive campsite in Sumter County.
The FM serves as the point of contact for all visiting groups during the off-season of camp and oversees all work and service projects throughout the year, with guidance from the Executive Director.
Qualifications/ Skills:
Must be an active member of a Catholic community to express personal knowledge of the Catholic faith and commitment to Catholic ideals Knowledge and skills in various building trades (i.
e.
electrical, plumbing, painting, construction, equipment operation, water systems, pool systems and septic systems, erosion control, etc.
) Ability to accept direction, supervise and encourage volunteers and work well with others Self starter, organizer, goal-oriented, ability to work independently Able to be flexible with hours, including being on call some nights and weekends.

Responsibilities:

) - General Maintenance Conduct the janitorial activities of the camp Prepare facilities for user groups Identify safety hazards and promptly perform corrective actions Inspect and make necessary repairs of all facilities and equipment Supervise and coordinate with vendors performing maintenance Maintain all DOSP and Catholic Mutual standards and required safety logs Be available for emergencies, including hours when guests are in camp - Building, Grounds, Equipment and Vehicle Maintenance Keep and maintain all camp vehicles in good operating condition Maintain grounds to ensure minimal risk of injury to persons using camp Maintain camp signage Maintain water systems at camp, including well pump, pool pump and coordinating with water company personnel Maintain and repair septic system on routine, scheduled basis Maintain the camp pool, ensuring that it is kept up to code and passes county inspection Maintain the camp kitchen during the off-season, ensuring that it remains clean, in good working condition, ready for use and passes health inspection Complete monthly reports, logs and review with Camp Director Identify additions/modifications to facilities to meet needs Supervise and work with outside contractors when necessary or requested Maintain grounds to reduce risk of fire hazard, including but not limited to; annual inspections and removal of fire fuel Maintain the maintenance garage and all areas where tools, equipment, firewood, etc.

Minimizing visual blight and exposure of guests to potentially dangerous situations Work with seasonal staff, outside groups and volunteers to ensure proper handling of equipment Mow, trim trees, weed wack, split firewood, clear hiking trails, etc.

About Our Lady of Good Counsel Camp:
Our Lady of Good Counsel Camp is the traditional overnight summer camp for the Catholic Diocese of St.
Petersburg, FL.
Founded in 1947, our mission is to challenge youth to build character through wholesome outdoor adventures and the Catholic Faith.
Each summer we welcome up to 500 campers to take part in our 8 weeks of summer program.
The rest of the year, we make our 175 acre property and facilities available to retreat groups for rent and occasionally facilitate our own off-season program.
